Unless you live in Japan, when you hear the word "marché," you probably think mainly of food markets.
In Japan, there are many events called marche, but they are not limited to food; there are also stalls selling handmade goods, sundries, flowers, kitchen cars, and so on.
They are mainly based in the area, and many of the stalls are run by locals.
